Announcing our 2017 Survivor of the Year!

Komen Acadiana is thankful for all submissions to our 2017 Survivor of the Year Contest, conducted by Courtesy Automotive Group. We are excited to announce that our 2017 Survivor of the year is Beth Marino Resweber!

In 2015, after a routine mammogram, Beth was diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. “I told myself I wasn’t going to get down and I started #notittypitty,”  says Beth. That same year, Beth underwent  a double mastectomy and chemotherapy treatments.  Through it all, this young wife and mother was determined to keep a positive attitude and move forward as a light for others.

“Beth never let her illness defeat her spirit…her humor remained intact (even when her hair didn’t)”, said Allen Duhe’, close friend of our 2017 Survivor of the Year.

“She has always been loving and generous, and a friend to many,” says Bobbi Marino, Beth’s mother, elaborating further that “Through this cancer experience, I have seen her grow into an even more beautiful person, and one who helped console and support other cancer patients as she was going through the journey with them.”

Komen Acadiana is honored to have such an amazing woman as our 2017 Survivor Honoree!  Join Beth on March 25, 2017 as she leads our survivor parade and ceremony at our 18th Annual Race for the Cure.
