Hello Rep. [NAME],

I’m writing on behalf of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, which serves communities throughout your district. I urge you to support funding for the Louisiana Breast & Cervical Health Program (LBCHP), which has been eliminated from the FY14 state budget.

For many women, LBCHP is the only point of access to early detection. Without LBCHP, many of them will be forced to forgo recommended screenings, instead turning up at emergency rooms in our public hospitals with later staged cancers that are much more costly to treat, and for which there are many fewer treatment options.

Monday morning at 9:00 am, Representative Moreno will present an amendment to re-establish funding for this crucial safety net program.  I urge you to support this amendment.

Thank you for your time and service,
