The countdown is on! This coming Ocotober 19th will mark the 4th annual Susan G. Komen CenLA Race for the Cure®. Today you can make a huge impact on the fight to end breast cancer. Komen Acadiana invites you to take our Power of 10 Challenge today. It’s as easy as asking 10 people for $10. You can use our sample email below or create your own message sharing why you support the fight against breast cancer. Your fundraising efforts directly impact the women and men of Acadiana.
How does a 5K Race make a huge impact on the global movement to end breast cancer forever? Through the fundraising efforts of every participant.
You don’t need to be a fundraising expert to be successful at it – you just need the desire to stand up to breast cancer and make a difference. Thanks to people like you, in 2013 the Komen Acadiana Affiliate was able to fund $394,921 for education, screening and treatment services in Acadia, Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Evangeline, Iberia, Lafayette, Grant, Lasalle, Rapides, St. Landry, St. Martin, Vermilion & Vernon parishes. This year we’re aiming even higher! If every Race participant at the CenLA and Acadiana Race for the Cure® raised an average of $100 over the registration fee, the Komen Acadiana Affiliate would raise an additional $1,000,000! Together, we can save lives!
Fundraising is easy with online fundraising tools! When you registered for the Race you automatically received your own fundraising website which can be personalized. Start now by logging in, and encouraging everyone you know to visit your site, see what you are doing in the fight against breast cancer and make a donation on your behalf. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stays right here in the local community! The remaining income goes to the national Susan G. Komen for the Cure Grants Program to fund research.

Established as a way to honor those who have battled breast cancer and who are no longer with us. Thank a Co-survivor who has supported you or celebrate team members and or survivors joining you in the Race for the Cure®. These beautiful plastic flowers are large enough to accomodate personal messages and tributes. They are prominently displayed in Janice's Garden and are available for pickup on Race Day.
Each bloom costs $10. Deadline for mail orders is October 9, 2013. Payment must accompany your order.
