BREAST SELF EXAM (BSE)

BSE is a self-exam screening method intended to find early tumors, in particular those that develop in the time between annual mammograms and clinical breast exams.  By doing monthly BSE, a woman becomes familiar with the way their breasts look and feel normally and can recognize changes such as thickening, lumps or spontaneous nipple discharge and skin changes such as dimpling or puckering.
