Kids for the Cure® Congratulations to the winners of our 2010 Kids for the Cure Team Competition: Broadmoor Elementary School Scott Middle School What is Kids for the Cure®? You don't have to be an adult to raise money to end breast cancer forever. Kids under the age of 12 are encouraged to register as a Kids for the Cure participant as a walker or runner. Children, ages 12 and under, can register for Kids for the Cure for a $20 entry fee, which includes a youth size race t-shirt. All Kids for the Cure registrants are encouraged to participate in the 1 Mile Fun Run/Fun Walk at 8:30am. In addition, the children can visit our Kids for the Cure area at the Race Expo in Girard Park before and after the 1 Mile Run/Walk. We will have games, activities, entertainment, and lots of fun planned just for them! Participants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian on the race course. Are You Interested in Creating a Team? We encourage elementary and middle schools to participate by creating an "official" Kids for the Cure® team. By wearing your school's t-shirt on Race Day, you'll be recognized for your efforts in supporting this worthwhile cause in our community. In addition, we will be presenting an award for the largest Kids for the Cure® elementary and middle school team. Faculty, staff, students and their family members can all be participants on your team. Ask a member of your school community to be a "team captain". It is easy! Register your team online and then spread the work by sending the flyer home with your students, post the flyer on your website, have teachers send notes home with the weekly papers, talk it up at Parent/Teacher meetings, post flyers around school, etc. Have your entire school community and supporters of your school signup to be on your team. Each race participant will receive their race shirts in the mail and then have a great family day at the race. Wear your school shirts, so all will know your school supports Komen's vision of "A World Without Breast Cancer".
