    Volunteers Needed - Race Planning Meeting
    We are looking for volunteers to help coordinate efforts in the planning and organizing of 10,000 participants for Race for the Cure. We will have our first Race Planning Meeting on January 11th at 5:30 PM at HAI NAM Restaurant located at 2330 Kaliste Saloom, Lafayette, LA.

    Race Participant Awards

    1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK:  Overall awards to the First, Second and Third place female and male and First, Second and Third place Breast Cancer Survivor will be given.

    5K RUN/WALK:  Overall awards to the First, Second and Third place female and male will be given. Female and male age group awards will be given in the following categories: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-over.  First place Breast Cancer Survivor will receive roundtrip air transportation on American Airlines or American Eagle to any destination in the contiguous US. Limit (1) ticket per household.

    Awards to Second place and Third place Breast Cancer Survivors, First place Master Survivor (age 40-59), and First place Senior Survivor (age 60+) will also be given.

    HIGHEST PLEDGE AMOUNT:  The individual participant who raises the most money in pledges will receive one ticket for roundtrip air transportation on American Airlines or American Eagle to any destination in the contiguous US. All pledges must be received or postmarked by April 30, 2009 in order to be eligible for the award.  (For more information, please visit our Power of 10 Pledge Program page.)

    CORPORATE AND GROUP TEAMS:  Team Awards will be given in the following categories:

    • the largest corporate team (more than 250 employees)
    • the largest small business team
    • the largest family and friends team
    • the largest high school team
    • the largest middle school team
    • the largest Kids for the Cure school team
    • the team with the largest amount of pledges.
