COURSE
Beautiful downtown Lafayette for 1 Mile and 5K (USATF certified course number LA07003JF).

*For the safety of all participants, headsets, rollerblades, inline skates, bicycles, and pets are discouraged in this event. Thank you for your cooperation.

*This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your enrty fee will be used as a donation to the Komen Acadiana Race for the Cure®. 

COMMERATIVE T-SHIRTS
All participants receive a 100% cotton Komen Acadiana Race for the Cure T-shirt and Race Gift Bag. T-shirts for pre-registered entries will be given out at packet pickup or prior to 9:00am Race day.  Survivors will also receive a special pink survivor shirt.

AWARDS
1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK:  Overall awards to the First, Second and Third place female and male and First, Second and Third place Breast Cancer Survivor will be given.

5K RUN/WALK:  Overall awards to the First, Second and Third place female and male will be given. Female and male age group awards will be given in the following categories: 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-over.  First place Breast Cancer Survivor will receive roundtrip air transportation on American Airlines or American Eagle to any destination in the contiguous US. Limit (1) ticket per household.

Awards to Second place and Third place Breast Cancer Survivors, First place Master Survivor (age 40-59), and First place Senior Survivor (age 60+) will also be given.

HIGHEST PLEDGE AMOUNT:  The individual participant who raises the most money in pledges will receive one ticket for roundtrip air transportation on American Airlines or American Eagle to any destination in the contiguous US. All pledges must be received by Komen by 3:00 pm CST on Friday, March 20, 2009 in order to be eligible for the award.

CORPORATE AND GROUP TEAMS

Team Awards will be given in the following categories: (1) the largest corporate team (more than 250 employees); (2) the largest small business team; (3) the largest family & friends team; (4) the largest high school team; (5) the largest middle school team; (6) the largest Kids for the Cure® school team; and (7) the team with the largest amount of pledges.

KIDS FOR THE CURE®

Children 12 and under can register for Kids for the Cure for a fee of $15 and receive a youth size t-shirt.  Visit our Kids for the Cure area on Race Day for activities and entertainment just for them. (Children may not be left unattended. Parental supervision is required.)

KOMEN MARKETPLACE
Don't forget your wallet!  Visit the Komen Marketplace for keepsake and gift items available for purchase in the Expo area.  Purchases can be made by cash or check.
