Can’t make Race? Join us as a Virtual Runner!

Can’t make Race for the Cure this year?  Don’t sweat it!  You can register as a Virtual Runner and still support lifesaving research and local community grants for breast health in Acadiana, and get your race shirt & race packet goodies! Simply register for Race for the Cure and select the virtual runner option. You will receive your Race Packet, complete with your shirt and other goodies from our sponsors, in the mail!  Being a virtual runner is a great way to show survivors in our community that you care. Walk or run on your own time in your race shirt and take a picture to share on our Facebook page with the hashtag #VirtualRunner2018

Hope Acadiana shirts are available for purchase this week only at https://shoplateeda.com!  Proceeds from all shirt sales benefit Komen Acadiana.  Purchase your shirt online before February 10, 2018, and we will include your shirt in your Race Packet to wear on Race Day!

Q. When is the Race?
A. The Race will be held on February 24, 2018. The Race start time will be at 5:00pm.

Q. Where is the Race?
A. The Race will be held SugarMill Pond, which is located at 101 Waterview Rd. Youngsville, LA 70592

Q. How much is the registration fee?
A. $30 — Survivors/Forever Fighter
$35 — Adult 5K Fun Run/Walk
$35 —  Adult 1 Mile Walk/Fun Run
$15 — Children (Ages 12 & Under)
$30 — Virtual Runner

Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.

Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will get a Race number, a Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® t-shirt, any sponsor goodies, and a great feeling knowing you are making an impact on local community grants and life saving research to end breast cancer forever!

Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt?
A. Packet Pick up will be hosted by Presenting Sponsor, Courtesy Automotive Group, at their Lincoln Dealership, which is located at 4010 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy, Lafayette, LA 70503, from 7:00am – 6:00pm on February 22 & February 23, 2018.

Q. How long is the Race?
A. The Race is a 5K route, which is approximately 3.1 miles. There is also a shorter route option (approximately 1 mile). You may choose to walk or run either route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.

Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen Acadiana Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. There are many ways you can get involved, for more information, click here.

Q. Are pet and strollers allowed at the event?
A. We strongly discourage all from bringing pets to the event, but strollers are permitted.

Q. What if it rains?
A. Komen holds the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.
